My name is Dionne Rochelle Bobo, and I am proud to share my journey. I was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and am 53 years old. After graduating from Ridgeway High School, I pursued a career in nursing by attending the Help Care Training Institution School of Nursing. Over the past 34 years, I have dedicated myself to the nursing profession, providing compassionate care and making a positive impact in the healthcare field. In addition to my nursing career, I returned to school to further my education and became a Medical Records Director, broadening my expertise within the healthcare industry. I also have a passion for entrepreneurial development, which led me to found and manage Bobo’s Unlimited Cleaning Service. This experience not only enhanced my leadership skills but also deepened my understanding of financial literacy and business ownership. Outside of my professional endeavors, I am a proud mother of four wonderful children—one daughter and three sons. I believe in giving back to my community, and I engage in mentorship programs to support aspiring entrepreneurs. In my free time, I enjoy activities that bring joy and fulfillment. Whether it’s bowling, walking, attending movies, or participating in church activities, I cherish these moments of relaxation and connection. Above all, I treasure the time spent with my grandchildren, who bring immense happiness to my life. Each chapter of my life has shaped me into the person I am today, and I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have defined my journey as a philanthropist.

I was born in a small town where dreams often felt like distant stars—glimmering but just out of reach. Growing up, I faced my own challenges, but I always found solace in the warmth of family and the support of my community. My parents instilled in me the values of compassion, hard work, and the importance of giving back. As I matured, I realized that I wanted to be a beacon of hope for those who needed it most—especially the youth. As I navigated through life, I was blessed with two beautiful children who changed my perspective on everything. They brought joy, laughter, and a sense of purpose that I had never known before. Being a mother opened my eyes to the struggles that many children face today—challenges that can often feel insurmountable. I wanted to be a part of the solution, to create a nurturing environment where young people could thrive and feel valued. The decision to become a foster parent was born from a deep desire to make a difference. I aspired to provide a safe haven for children who were navigating the turbulent waters of life. I envisioned my home as a sanctuary—a place where love, support, and understanding flowed freely. I knew that fostering would be a challenging journey, but the thought of being a guiding light for a child in need was a calling I couldn’t ignore. To fully dedicate myself to this new path, I made the bold decision to resign from my 9-to-5 job. It was a leap of faith, but I believed that my true calling lay in serving the youth and creating a positive impact in their lives. My journey led me to become an entrepreneur, transitioning into a career in real estate, where I could not only support my family but also have the flexibility to nurture the children in my care. It felt like the perfect blend of my professional skills and my passion for helping others. As I embarked on my journey as a full-time realtor, I quickly learned the ins and outs of the industry, gaining financial literacy that allowed me to thrive. I found joy in helping families find their dream homes, knowing that a stable environment is crucial for children’s growth. With my background in entrepreneurial development, I also sought to engage in mentorship programs that could empower youth. With each closing, I felt a sense of fulfillment, knowing that I was contributing to the well-being of families while pursuing my goal as a philanthropist.
